John Foster

John brings over 24 years of legal experience to FCPS, having served as Division Counsel with FCPS since 2013. Prior to joining FCPS, he provided legal counsel for corporations, insurance companies, public service authorities, school boards, and local governments. From 2008 to 2013, he led the legal team for the City of Falls Church in complex litigation that was ultimately resolved through the sale of the Falls Church water system. In 2004, 2006, and 2007, he was recognized for outstanding service by the Office of the Fairfax County Attorney. Foster obtained his Bachelor of Arts with Distinction and his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, and is licensed to practice in the Supreme Court of Virginia.
