James Zavodjancik

James Zavodjancik has extensive work experience in the education field. James currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer for Fairfield Public Schools since July 2020. Prior to this role, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at Sacred Heart University starting in December 2015. From June 2016 to July 2020, they held the position of Principal at Shelton Public Schools. Before that, they were a Housemaster at Shelton Public School from January 2015 to June 2016. James also served as an Assistant Principal at Milford Public Schools from August 2012 to January 2015. Additionally, they worked at Milford Public Schools as the World Languages Curriculum Coordinator from September 2010 to June 2012 and as a Spanish Teacher from September 2005 to June 2012.

James Zavodjancik has an extensive education history. James completed a Certificate in educational law from the University of Connecticut in 2021. From 2018 to 2021, they pursued a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2017, James earned an Executive Leadership Certificate from the University of Connecticut, with a focus on the Superintendent of Schools 093 certification program.

Further back, James earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University in 2012. In 2009, they obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration and Supervision from Sacred Heart University. Before that, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Teaching from Sacred Heart University in 2007. James began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Spanish Secondary Education from Southern Connecticut State University in 2005.
