Don C. Sawyer, III

Don C. Sawyer III, Ph.D., currently serves as the Vice President for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging and as an Associate Professor of Sociology at Fairfield University since July 2023. Prior to this role, Don Sawyer was a tenured Associate Professor of Sociology at Quinnipiac University from August 2012 to July 2023, where responsibilities included teaching courses in the Sociology Department. In addition to academic positions, Don Sawyer is the owner of Don Sawyer Photography and DCS3 Educational Consulting, both established in August 2013 and 2012 respectively. Earlier in the career, Don Sawyer held various leadership roles at Syracuse University from August 2000 to August 2012, contributing to equity, inclusion, leadership development, and academic affairs while also engaging as a doctoral student and instructor. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sociology, an MA in Sociology, and an MS in Cultural Foundations of Education from Syracuse University, and a BA in Psychology from Hartwick College.
