Amir Gorgi

Amir Gorgi has a diverse work experience in various senior financial roles. Amir served as the Chief Financial Officer for Fairstone Bank and Duo Bank, starting in October 2019. Before that, they were the Vice President & Controller for Personal & Commercial Banking at RBC from April 2018 to September 2019. Prior to RBC, they held multiple positions at TD, including Vice President & CFO for Direct Channels from March 2013 to December 2017, and Vice President for Enterprise Decision Support from July 2010 to February 2013. Earlier in their career, they worked at Manulife Financial as Vice President & Head of Investor Relations from November 2007 to July 2010, and as Assistant Vice President for Strategic Financial Analysis from September 2005 to November 2007. Amir also has experience at Royal & Sun Alliance, where they served as Director & Head of Corporate Development from September 2004 to September 2005, Director & CFO for Personal Insurance from April 2002 to September 2004, and Manager of Financial Reporting from September 1999 to April 2002. Gorgi began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate from September 1996 to September 1999.

Amir Gorgi completed their Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Toronto between 1992 and 1996. Amir then pursued their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) in 1999. In 2004, they undertook further education and received a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification from the CFA Institute, specializing in Financial Analysis, which they completed in 2006.
