Johanna Schmidt is an experienced cocoa manager currently working at Fairtrade International since September 2020, where responsibilities include program management of sustainable supply chains and partnerships across Africa, Latin America, and Europe, as well as pricing and standards and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL). Previously, Johanna served as a global project manager for cocoa at Fairtrade Deutschland from February 2010 to September 2020, focusing on Fairtrade supply chains for cocoa and sugar, particularly in West Africa and Latin America, along with monitoring and evaluation tasks. Early career experience includes a role as a junior project manager coordinating a CSR project funded by the European Social Fund and internships at the Deutsche Botschaft Uganda and Universität zu Köln. Johanna holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Cologne and has further education from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
