Malina Simard-Halm

Malina Simard-Halm has been involved with COLAGE and Family Equality for her whole life — as a camper, staff member and now board member. One of the first children born to two gay fathers through assisted reproduction, she has been a lifelong advocate for LGBTQ families. In settings ranging from the playground to the courtroom, she has used her voice to lift the stories of LGBTQ families. Her testimony has appeared in the news as well as in Family Equality’s own amicus brief, “Voices of the Children,” used and cited in the Supreme Court Marriage Equality cases. For the past three years, Malina also served as a member of the Board of Directors of COLAGE. Malina graduated from Yale College with a degree in Ethics, Politics and Economics and just received her Masters from Cambridge University in Criminology. She’ll continue to study the legal contours of inequity in law school this following year. Malina lives with her fathers and two little brothers, Harley and Luc, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
