Dennis Abboud

Chairperson at Family Focus

Dennis Abboud is the current Chairperson at Family Focus. Prior to that, they were the Sector Vice President of Human Resources at Marmon Foodservice Technologies from January 2020 to November 2020. Before that, they were the Vice President of Human Resources at Zentis North America from October 2015 to December 2019. At Zentis North America, Dennis provided strategic human resources leadership to drive the achievement of the North America business strategy. This included developing and driving business unit leadership growth initiatives, implementing people cultural transformational strategies, maintaining an environment with high levels of employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and design, improving labor relations, ensuring employment compliance and people-related processes. Dennis oversaw the human-resources functions for all US supporting organizations and four facilities located in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Indiana and California for 500+US employees. Dennis reported directly to the CEO and led the company’s employee and labor strategy including union vulnerability assessments, union avoidance training, and the negotiation, interpretation of the company’s collective bargaining agreements, and proactive resolution of grievances. Dennis also acted as the Zentis Ethics Point HelpLine System Administrator. In addition, they championed the Employee engagement and cultural transformation process through the delivery of corporate strategies, employee engagement pulse committees, business unit engagement priorities, Individual people leader engagement, diversity and inclusion, and community actions. Furthermore, they created, developed updated and communicated Human Resources policies, procedures, corporate guidelines, Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct updates to ensure compliance with employment laws. Lastly, Dennis oversaw the company’s HRIS technology roadmap - HRIS platform (ADP Workforce), Learning Management System (LMS/Alchemy) to drive efficiencies and compliance.

Dennis Abboud's educational career includes earning a Master's of Arts in Counseling and Human Services from Roosevelt University as well as a Bachelor's of Arts in Organizational Psychology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. In addition, they hold certifications from the Human Capital Institute (HCI) in Strategic Workforce Planning, SHRM in SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in Certification in Labor Relations Management, Teleometrics Training in Models for Management Trainer Certification, and HR Certification Institute - HRCI in Professional in Human Resources-PHR. Finally, they are also certified by Triton College in Train The Trainer.
