Selene Chavez

Support Specialist at UpTogether

The name is Selene Chavez and have been with UpTogether since August 2020 as part of the support team. She was raised in the small town of Hatch, NM where the family worked as seasonal farm workers.

Her passion to help others also stems from the poverty and homelessness of the family experienced as immigrants with no support system. In an effort to drive change, she volunteer on the Board of Directors for the local United Way advocating for the needs of the spanish-speaking community as well as youth success. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, emphasis in Information Systems and a minor in Accounting.

Prior to the time at UpTogether, she worked at a Title 1 public school assisting bilingual students with technology needs and community resources. She then furthered the technology career providing IT support for the local government and community members. She strongly believe self-sufficiency is attainable when families have access to technology resources and community support to guide them and move forward.
