Fran Ferris-Ockwell has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors and roles. In 2005, they worked as a Housing Caseworker at Shelter UK for two years before moving on to become an SQM Housing Law Supervisor and Community Legal Advice at Howells Direct Llp from 2007 to 2010. Following this, they joined Sheffield Citizens Advice Bureau Debt Support Unit as a Supervisor and Acting Contract Manager from 2010 to 2012.

In 2012, Fran became the CEO of Nomad Opening Doors, where they focused on diversifying the organization's income streams and improving operational practices. Fran also took on the role of Strategic Director from 2016 to 2017, contributing to strategic development and organizational growth. Fran established the Smart Steps program during their time at Nomad, which was replicated by other organizations and local authorities across the UK.

Fran's work experience also includes roles at Lime Green Consulting as an Associate Consultant from 2020 to 2021 and Tickets for Good as a Strategic Advisor from 2020 to 2021. In 2020, they founded their own consulting firm, Ferris-Ockwell Consulting Ltd, where they served as Director.

More recently, Fran worked as a Certified Executive Mentor at Collective Brains starting in 2021. Fran is also the Director of Mantle and a Co-Founder of Family Phone, both of which they joined in 2021.

Fran Ferris-Ockwell BA MPA FRSA completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Goldsmiths, University of London. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the University of York from 2017 to 2019. In terms of additional certifications, Fran obtained the PRINCE2® Foundation Certification Training from AXELOS Global Best Practice in March 2020, and later obtained the PRINCE2® 2017 Practitioner certification in October 2020.
