Margaret Bernhard has extensive experience in nonprofit management and volunteer services, currently serving as an Affiliate Services Associate at Family Promise, Inc. since April 2018. Prior to this role, Margaret held various positions at New York Cares from December 2012 to April 2018, including Group Volunteer Experience Manager, Community Leadership Development Manager, and Volunteer Relations Manager. Margaret's earlier experience includes serving as a Corporate Service Coordinator during an AmeriCorps term at Jersey Cares and working as a Development Assistant and Management Intern at Civic Theatre of Allentown. Margaret began the professional journey as an AmeriCorps Member with the Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania AmeriCorps Program. Academically, Margaret holds a Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit Management from Rutgers University - Newark and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Media and Communication from Muhlenberg College.

Family Promise is based in Summit, New Jersey, where we began our work in 1988, founded on the belief that Americans are compassionate people who want to make a difference. Today we have more than 200 Affiliates in 43 states, with more in development. Family Promise is a leader in promoting volunteerism and has served as a model of American volunteerism in the U. S. and abroad. Our programs involve 180,000 volunteers nationwide who provide assistance to more than 50,000 family members annually. Family Promise was chosen to receive one of 21 Points of Light awards out of a field of more than 4,500 nominees.
