Irma Chavez

Irma Chavez is an experienced professional with a strong background in social work and advocacy. Currently serving as an ESL Instructor at Amarillo College since August 2018, Irma provides individual and group therapy counseling to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence while maintaining case documentation and statistics. Irma has also worked as a Bilingual Advocate at Family Support Services of Amarillo, Inc. since March 2015, and previously held positions including Case Manager I at Catholic Charities of Central Texas and RSS/SAS Supervisor at Refugee Services of Texas. Irma’s earlier experience includes serving as a Bilingual Victim Advocate at Family Support Services and a 211 Texas Bilingual I&R Specialist at United Way of Amarillo & Canyon. Additionally, Irma has a Master's Degree in Social Work from West Texas A&M University.
