Samuel Fletcher

Samuel Fletcher is a seasoned Principal Engineer at FamilySearch, where responsibilities include architecting the back-end of familysearch.org and implementing technologies such as AWS Elastic Beanstalk, SNS, SQS, Redis, and PostgreSQL for the family tree application, alongside identity management and machine learning initiatives. Prior to FamilySearch, Samuel held the position of Distinguished Engineer at Novell Inc. from 1989 to 2002, contributing as a software architect for GroupWise and Novell Workspace, and holding primary inventor status on ten software patents while participating in the Technical Architecture Council and Standards Review Board. Samuel earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University between 1980 and 1987.
