FAO Schwarz
Alexis Yavne has a strong background in design and creative services, with experience in various companies in the toy industry. They began their career as a Freelance Designer and 3D Solidworks Designer at Nickelodeon in 2009 and then moved on to Commonwealth Toy & Novelty, where they served as a Lead Designer & Design Manager. During this position, Alexis managed visual projects, developed the Angry Birds plush line, and worked directly with licensors and retailers.
Following their time at Commonwealth Toy & Novelty, Alexis worked as an Industrial Designer at KIDdesigns, Inc., where they developed toys for various licenses such as Disney and Barbie. They then joined Fisher-Price as a Senior Designer and later became a Project Designer, working on the conceptualization and development of toys for Thomas and Friends.
After Fisher-Price, Alexis took on roles at Spin Master, starting as a Design Manager Robotics, managing the aesthetics and functionality of interactive toys. They then became a Senior Design Manager and Design Director for their GUND line, where they oversaw plush product design and led a design team.
Most recently, Alexis worked at 9 Story Media Group as a Creative Services, Creative Director. In this role, they were responsible for translating content into graphics, creating a company-wide process for graphic design projects, and providing trend research to support decision making.
Currently, Alexis Yavne is the Global Director of Visual Merchandising at FAO Schwarz, where they oversee visual merchandising globally for the company.
Alexis Yavne began their education in 2006 at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where they pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Illustration. Alexis completed this program in 2008. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Toy Design at the same institution from 2008 to 2010.
