Elke van Oudenhove

Elke Van Oudenhove, PhD, currently serves as the Scientific Program Manager at the FAQIR Institute since August 2025. Previously, Elke held the position of Scientist at Sciensano from July 2024 to August 2025, where project management was undertaken for a significant European initiative aimed at reducing cancer and non-communicable diseases. As Director of Scientific Operations at Droia Ventures from February 2020 to February 2024, Elke successfully built and operationalized a laboratory while overseeing recruitment and establishing necessary operational frameworks. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Langone Health, focusing on small cell carcinoma research, and a PhD program at Cancer Research UK, which involved the genomic characterization of ovarian cancer. Earlier roles included laboratory technician work at Ghent University and a studentship at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. Academic qualifications encompass a PhD in Medical Science from the University of Cambridge and a degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology from HOGENT.
