Simon Lee

Simon Lee has extensive work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Simon currently holds the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer at Farasis Energy, where they started in May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Gatan Inc. from January 2022 to May 2022.

From June 2019 to December 2021, Simon worked at Farasis Energy, Inc. as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, they were involved in designing Li-ion battery components and developing electrical insulation for battery interiors. Simon utilized AutoCrear simulation for design validation.

Before joining Farasis Energy, Simon worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Applied Materials from February 2018 to May 2019. In this role, they managed projects related to recycle clean/repair/second sourcing of semiconductor components. Simon also developed mathematical models to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Simon's work experience also includes a role as a Mechanical Design/Test Engineer at Salutron, Inc. from June 2015 to February 2018. Simon was responsible for designing opto-mechanical interfaces and various manual PCB test fixtures. Simon also validated mechanical designs using ANSYS structural simulation and fabricated prototypes for research purposes.

Additionally, Simon was involved in precision engineering laboratory projects with laser interferometers at San Jose State University from January 2016 to May 2016.

Prior to that, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer/Coordinator at Newnex Technology from August 2012 to June 2015. Simon'sresponsibilities included coordinating engineering tasks and projects, as well as designing plastic over-molds, connectors, and enclosures.

Simon also worked on a rotating POV display project at San Jose State University from January 2015 to May 2015.

Simon began their career as a Mechanical Engineer working on the development of a diffusion chamber and desiccant dryer for PM 2.0 aerosol sample collection at the University of California, Davis from September 2011 to May 2012. This project was funded by IMPROVE for air pollution analysis.

Overall, Simon Lee has gained valuable experience in mechanical engineering and has held various roles with a focus on component design, project management, and validation in different industries.

Simon Lee obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Simon further pursued their education and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University, from 2014 to 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Simon Lee has obtained several certifications. Simon completed the GD&T Fundamentals and Advanced Program at Engineer Essentials in January 2021. In October 2018, they received a Project Management Training Certification (PLMP) from Applied Materials. Earlier, in May 2012, they obtained the Engineering in Training certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
