Doug Farr

Doug Farr, FAIA, LEED AP, CNU-A has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of architecture, urban design, and sustainability. Doug is the President and Founding Principal of Farr Associates Architecture & Urban Design since 1990. Additionally, they are a Co-Founder of Carbon Free Chicago, a campaign aiming to decarbonize the Chicago region, which they started in 2020. Doug has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for EcoDistricts from 2017 to 2020 and Elevate Energy from 2013 to 2020. Doug has held leadership roles as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Congress for the New Urbanism from 2014 to 2016 and as the Chair of the LEED-ND Core Committee for USGBC from 2003 to 2008. Furthermore, Doug has worked as an Architect for Perkins and Will, Conners Farr Architects, Davis Brody and Associates, and Paul Rudolph Architect at different points in their career.

Doug Farr, FAIA, LEED AP, CNU-A received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan in 1980. Doug then pursued their Masters of Science in Architecture at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation, graduating in 1987.
