Shehnal advises both employers and employees in contentious and non-contentious employment matters. She also advises educational institutions on safeguarding matters.

Shehnal qualified into the Farrer & Co Employment team in September 2016.

She assists clients in employment litigation, acting for both employees and employers. She provides general advice in relation to disciplinary and grievance procedures, policy reviews and regular reviews and drafting of employment contracts and settlement agreements. She often advises individuals in relation to the terms of their settlement agreements.

Shehnal advises a variety of clients, including schools, universities, charities, businesses and individuals. Her approach to her work is calm, thoughtful and client-focused and she always seeks to consider the individual needs and sensitivities of clients.

A recent highlight was advising a client in relation to a potential discrimination claim he had against his employer and successfully negotiating a generous compensation payment. This enabled him to move on from his employment and focus on improving his health.

Shehnal believes that the Farrer & Co culture and working environment encourages collaborative working; learning from within the team and across different sectors to expand knowledge.
