Manuel Badenes Cortes

Manuel Badenes Cortes has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Manuel started their career as an Assistant Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 1999. After that, they joined Global Crossing in 2002 as a Pricing Analyst for Carrier Services, where they were responsible for setting prices, margin analysis, and collaborating with IT for the development of internal tools. In 2004, they transitioned into the role of an Account Manager, overseeing the Carrier Services portfolio in Europe.

In 2011, Manuel joined Level 3 Communications as a Sales Manager, where they successfully managed sales operations until 2017. After that, they joined Edgeware AB as a Sales Director in 2018 and worked there for three years, till 2021. In this role, they utilized their sales expertise to drive growth and achieve business targets.

Currently, Manuel is working as a Senior Sales Director at Fastly since 2021. Manuel is responsible for expanding Fastly's business in the East Mediterranean, North Africa, and Middle East regions. In this position, they collaborate with customers to assist them in accelerating innovation with fast, secure, and highly-personalized digital experiences.

Manuel Badenes Cortes completed their education in the field of economics. Manuel first obtained a degree in Licenciado en Economía from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, specializing in Macroeconomics, Game Theory, and Development Economics. This degree was earned from 1995 to 1999. Subsequently, from 1999 to 2000, they pursued an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the same university. Further advancing their education, Manuel completed an M.Phil/Ph.D. in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, from 2000 to 2001. Then, from 2001 to 2002, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where they pursued an MPhil/Ph.D. in Economics. In addition to their academic qualifications, Manuel obtained a certification as a Fortinet Network Security Expert 3 from Fortinet in August 2017.
