Christopher Sampson has a strong background in flood risk assessment and research. Christopher co-founded Fathom in 2013, where they currently serve as the Chief Technology Officer and Director. Christopher leads the research and model development team, focusing on creating detailed flood risk data used by various groups globally. Prior to Fathom, Sampson worked at the University of Bristol as a Postdoctoral Researcher, specializing in regional to global scale flood hazard models. During their time there, they also completed their NERC-CASE PhD with the Willis Research Network, focusing on understanding uncertainty in future flood risk for insurance and reinsurance markets. Christopher'swork involved the development of a detailed flood catastrophe model for Dublin, Ireland, and collaboration with Willis to align the project with industry requirements.
