Joshua Dema began their education at the University of Melbourne in 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor of Music (BMus) degree with a focus on Violoncello Performance. Following that, in 2015, they enrolled at DePaul University and earned a Master of Music (MMus) degree with Distinction in Music Performance, which they completed in 2017. In the same year, they also obtained an LMusA (Distinction) - Licentiate of Music degree in Violoncello from AMEB.

In terms of additional certifications, Joshua obtained the DHS Trusted Tester Certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in August 2021. Joshua also completed various certifications related to User Experience (UX), including User Experience Transform from Academy Xi in September 2020, User Experience, Elevate from Academy Xi in July 2020, Discover UX Design from CareerFoundry in March 2020, and User Experience for Web Design from LinkedIn e-learning in February 2020.
