Uduak Afangideh

Professor at Faulkner University

Dr. Uduak Afangideh graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and later obtained a master’s degree from Tennessee State University, also in biology. She attended the University of Calabar, Nigeria, where she earned a Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics.

Afangideh has taught at the university level since 1995. She is both a biology professor and a researcher. Her initial research interest was in the field of tissue culture and biotechnology at Tennessee State University and since then, she has done research in the fields of plant and animal breeding both in the United States and in Africa.

Afangideh is a member of the Genetics Society of Nigeria, the Agricultural Society of Nigeria and the Alabama Academy of Science. She teaches biology for non-majors, genetics, nutrition and scientific research at the undergraduate level. She also teaches advanced nutrition and advanced genetics at the graduate level.
