Gareth Butler

Gareth Butler is an experienced academic currently serving as an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Flinders University since May 2013. Prior to this role, Gareth worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Johannesburg and held lecturer positions at Taylor's Education Group and the University of Sunderland, where Gareth also served as a Visiting Lecturer. Earlier career experience includes roles as a Senior Geographical Information Systems Officer and Geographical Information Systems Officer with various councils and transport organizations, beginning with Wakefield Council in 2004. Gareth holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Tourism Geographies from the University of Sunderland, obtained between 2007 and 2011.
