Ben Sajdak has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Ben is currently working as the Director of Emerging Animal Models at FaunaBio, where they drive the drug discovery pipeline and collaborates with those interested in non-traditional animal models for scientific discovery and human health.
In their previous roles, Ben served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, an Adjunct Professor of Biology at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and a Morgridge Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellow at the Morgridge Institute for Research. During their postdoctoral fellowship, they received advanced training in optics, computer programming, and stem cell biology.
Prior to that, Ben worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher, Graduate Assistant, and Research Technologist at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where they focused on ophthalmology, cell biology, bioengineering, and adaptive optics translational research.
Earlier in their career, Ben worked as a Lead Animal Caretaker at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, a Chemistry Lab Technician at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, a Team Leader at Lowe's Home Improvement, and a Construction Laborer at Miron Construction Co., Inc.

From 2014 to 2018, they attended the Medical College of Wisconsin and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cell Biology, Neurobiology, and Anatomy.
Prior to that, they studied at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh from 2010 to 2013. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology, General.
Before their undergraduate studies, they attended Fox Valley Technical College from 2004 to 2006. Ben obtained an Associate's degree (AA) in Marketing Research.
In addition to their formal education, Ben has obtained several certifications. In July 2019, they completed the "Python Data Structures" certification from the University of Michigan. In May 2019, they also completed the "Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python)" certification, also from the University of Michigan. Lastly, in July 2015, they obtained the "Vision: A Platform for Linking Circuits, Behavior & Perception" certification from the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
