Daniel Guzman

Chief Legal Officer at Favor Delivery

Daniel Guzman has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Daniel started their career as a Mergers and Acquisitions Associate at Jones Day in 2008, where they advised clients on mergers, acquisitions, and stock purchases. Daniel also drafted deal agreements and coordinated due diligence teams. In 2013, they joined MasterCard's Strategic Transactions Group as an in-house attorney, handling mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and equity investments. Daniel was on secondment from Jones Day during this time.

In 2014, Guzman joined HEB as the Managing Counsel & Director, specializing in technology, eCommerce, and gig-economy legal matters. Daniel negotiated complex business transactions, drafted contracts, implemented compliance programs, and provided strategic advice to business leaders.

Since 2018, Guzman has been with Favor Delivery, initially serving as the Head of Legal. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of legal work, including business transactions, contracts, compliance, litigation, corporate governance, and public policy. Daniel provided strategic counsel to leadership and was a member of the executive team. In September 2022, they were promoted to Chief Legal Officer, taking on additional responsibilities as the corporate secretary and advisor to the board.

Daniel Guzman attended Weslaco High School but it is not specified when they completed their studies there. After high school, they enrolled at The University of Texas-Pan American, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. Daniel completed their undergraduate studies in 2005. Subsequently, Daniel attended New York University School of Law from 2005 to 2008, earning a Juris Doctorate degree with a specialization in Law.
