Ellen Heyndrickx is a laboratory expert in residues and contaminants at FAVV since February 2021. Previously, Ellen served as a specialist in the Department of Food Analysis and as an adjunct scientific advisor at Laboratorium ECCA from June 2017 to February 2021. Ellen's experience includes working as a project engineer in co-development at Pfizer through pi life sciences consultancy for a brief period in 2016 and conducting postdoctoral research at Ghent University from 2011 to 2016 within the FOODBALL project focused on biomarkers in nutrition and health. Ellen obtained a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ghent University, where the research involved human biomonitoring of mycotoxin exposure. Ellen’s academic background also includes a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ghent University. Additional experience includes internships at Rigaux Apoteek Bvba, AZ Maria Middelares, and ILVO, contributing to the development of analytical methods for mycotoxins.
