Alina Östling is a Senior Researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden since August 2022 and Co-Chair at Open Knowledge Sweden, where research activities focus on political integrity, open data, and public participation. In addition, Östling serves as an Election Observer for the Folke Bernadotte Academy and is a Horizon 2020 evaluator for the European Commission, conducting evaluations across various EU Framework Programmes. Previous roles include Research Fellow at the European University Institute, where participation in the GLOBALCIT program and the Media Pluralism Monitor took place, as well as positions at the Open Government Partnership and OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. Östling holds a PhD in Political Science from the European University Institute and a Master's degree in Business and Economics from Uppsala University.

The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development. FBA supports international peace operations and international development cooperation. The agency conducts training, research and method development in order to strengthen peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also recruit civilian personnel and expertise for peace operations and election observation missions led by the EU, UN and OSCE. The agency is named after Count Folke Bernadotte, the first UN mediator. Here on Linkedin we share the latest news from our activities.
