Matthew DeLang has a diverse work experience in the field of sports medicine and physical therapy. Matthew started their career as a Gameday Assistant for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2015. Matthew then worked as a Student Physical Therapist at ATI Physical Therapy and Va Pittsburgh Healthcare Systs. Matthew had a twelve-week clinical rotation through the Duke University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program during their time at ATI Physical Therapy. In 2016, they worked as a Spring Training Sports Medicine Assistant for the Toronto Blue Jays. Matthew also had a brief stint as a Student Physical Therapist at Pro Performance Therapy and a Physical Therapist at ATI Physical Therapy in 2018. In 2019, they became a Sports Physical Therapy Resident at Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine and a Sports Resident Physical Therapist at FC Dallas. In 2021, they joined Right to Dream Academy as an Academy Physiotherapist and later held the positions of Head of Medical & Physical Performance and Head of Medical & Performance - International Academy. Currently, they are the Head of Medical at FC Nordsjaelland, starting from June 2023.
Matthew DeLang completed their Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences - Pre-Physical Therapy from Oakland University in 2015. In terms of additional certifications, Matthew has obtained certifications in Sports Trauma Management from Lubas Medical in November 2022, Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider and First Aid from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in November 2020. Matthew also holds certifications as a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Additionally, Matthew has a certification as an Emergency Medical Responder from Cogent Steps and a FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine from F-MARC.
