Fan Zhang

Fan Zhang is an experienced software engineer and researcher, currently serving as a Fd.io Technical Steering Committee Committer-at-large Representative at FD.io since November 2023 and as a MTS Software Engineer at NetApp since October 2022. Previous positions include Network Software Engineer at Intel from June 2015 to October 2022, with a focus on DPDK software programming and Software Defined Networking. Fan Zhang has also held roles as a Visiting Professor at Xiangtan University and a Software Engineer at Bustec, contributing to VXI Plug & Play and VXWorks driver programming, among other responsibilities. An IRCSET Embark Postgraduate Researcher at the University of Limerick from September 2005 to September 2011, Fan Zhang developed a wireless sensor network security library and protocols, culminating in a Ph.D. in Wireless Sensor Networks, Information Security, Encryption, and Energy Efficiency from the same institution. Academic training also includes a Master of Engineering in Computer and Communication Systems from the University of Limerick.
