Catherine Makin has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Catherine is currently the Head of Tailored Investments at FE fundinfo, where they lead the business development team for FE Investments and oversees the bespoke investment proposition. Prior to this, they worked as a Regional Manager and Team Lead at FE fundinfo, responsible for developing tailored solutions for clients. Catherine has also worked for The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI), where they served in various roles including Technical Reviewer and Author for financial examinations. Additionally, they have held positions at Chartered Insurance Institute, Barclays Wealth Management, HSBC Life, HSBC Retail Banking and Wealth Management, HSBC Global Asset Management, HSBC, and HBOS, where they gained expertise in business development, financial planning, wealth management, and relationship management.

Catherine Makin obtained an MSc in Financial Planning and Business Management from The Manchester Metropolitan University in 2018, with a focus on Defined Benefit Transfers and Framing effects. Catherine also holds professional qualifications including FPFS, MCSI, and IMC. Additionally, they have certifications in ESG Investing from CFA UK (obtained in 2021) and Prince2 Foundation from an unspecified institution (obtained in 2013). Catherine is also pursuing the designations of Chartered Financial Planner, Chartered Wealth Manager, and Investment Management Certificate from respective institutions.
