Aviation Medical Examiner at Federal Aviation Administration

Karice Bezdicek Stern, MD, Col, currently serves as an Aviation Medical Examiner at the Federal Aviation Administration since June 2022 and holds the position of SGP/Chief of Aerospace Medicine with the Air National Guard since July 2019. With extensive experience in emergency medicine, Karice has been an MD at Madison Emergency Physicians since July 2008 and has served as a Flight Surgeon in various capacities, including at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Air National Guard Wi 115th Fighter Wing. Additionally, Karice has a background in mishap investigation for high G aircraft within the United States Air Force since July 2010. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering, along with attendance at the USAF Air War College from 2017 to 2019. Previous roles also encompass research in crash investigation and mechanical engineering.
