John A. Miller, P.E., CFM, currently serves as the Acting NFIP Project Manager at FEMA within the Federal Insurance Directorate, managing Congressional Requests for Technical Drafting Assistance and leading a team focused on resilience. Miller has experience as a Mitigation Liaison within the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, working collaboratively with various state agencies and organizations to enhance statewide resiliency. As a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, Miller teaches a graduate course on floodplain management and has served as a primary reader for graduate capstone projects. Previous roles include detailing with the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs to address National Flood Insurance Program reforms, consulting at Princeton Hydro, and gaining diverse experiences through internships and early positions in engineering. Miller holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Villanova University.
