Sharmili Edwards

Sharmili Edwards currently serves as the Deputy Associate Chief Counsel Field Operations West at FEMA, a position held since February 2016, where responsibilities include supervising Deployable Field Counsel attorneys and coordinating legal affairs in the field. Prior to this role, Sharmili was the Legal Affairs Cadre Coordinator, overseeing the readiness of FEMA personnel for deployment. Additionally, Sharmili has worked as an Attorney-Advisor in the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, providing legal and strategic counsel. Sharmili holds a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from the University of Michigan.
