Laura Vallance is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in energy regulation and enforcement. Since October 2011, Laura has served as Legal Counsel to the Director of both the Division of Audits and Accounting and the Division of Energy Market Oversight at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Prior to this role, Laura worked at the same commission from May 1998 to June 2006 as a Confidential Legal Advisor to Commissioner Suedeen Kelly and as an Appellate Attorney in the Office of the Solicitor. Laura's legal career began at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission as an Attorney in the Office of General Counsel from February 1995 to May 1998 and includes a position as Law Clerk to the Honorable Peter J. Messitte at the United States District Court for the District of Maryland from 1994 to 1995. Laura Vallance holds a Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree in Russian Studies from American University.
