Joel Badger has extensive work experience in the finance and banking industry. Joel began their career as a Bank Examiner at the State of Georgia's Department of Banking and Finance, where they evaluated bank performance and credit quality. Joel then joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta as a Safety and Soundness Bank Examiner, examining super regional bank holding companies in the southeast. Joel later worked at Wachovia, a Wells Fargo Company, as an Internal Audit Subject Matter Expert, specializing in Treasury and ALM. Joel then moved to Branch Banking and Trust as a Senior Vice President and Audit Director. Currently, Joel holds the position of Chief Audit Officer at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where they have held various roles since 2004, including roles such as Deputy Chief Audit Officer, First Vice President, Audit Director, and Financial Risk Audit Manager.
Joel Badger holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Joel also completed a Master's in Taxation (MTX) from the Georgia State University - J. Mack Robinson College of Business, as well as a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance.
