William Shaw has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting. Starting as an Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1998, they then moved on to become a Manager of Inspections at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board in 2005. In 2007, they worked as the Director of SEC Reporting at Novelis before transitioning to First Charter Bank as the Vice President of Accounting and Assistant Controller. At First Charter Bank, they were responsible for SEC financial reporting, control procedures, and presenting updates to the Board of Directors. In 2008, they joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where they held various positions such as VP and Director of Accounting Policy and Financial Reporting, First Vice President, and finally Senior Vice President, Controller. In these roles, they provided technical accounting guidance, developed accounting policies, and managed financial reporting processes.
William Shaw completed both their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting from Brigham Young University. William attended the university from 1990 to 1997.
