Fabio Thoma

Fabio Thoma is a Senior Policy Officer (Data Scientist) at the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) since May 2023, focused on enhancing transparency and efficiency in German development cooperation. As a co-founder and board member at The Policy Corner since February 2016, Fabio has coordinated strategic direction and organized trainings on policy writing. Previous experience includes roles at the International Labour Organization, where Fabio co-led an SDG 8.7 Monitoring Working Group, and at The World Bank, contributing to taxation projects and SME development initiatives. Fabio has also served as a results measurement consultant at the International Finance Corporation, focusing on project-level impact assessment, and has gained further experience through consultancy roles at various organizations, including the World Food Programme and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Academic credentials include multiple master's degrees in International Development and Political Science, alongside a degree in Data Science from Mannheim Business School.
