Irene Fowlkes

Irene Fowlkes holds a Master of Arts in Comparative Literature from Paderborn University and has extensive experience in education and language training. Currently serving as a Consultant at the Ministry for Migration and Refugees since January 2016, Irene specializes in Asylum, Migration, and Integration, focusing on Basic Literacy, Integration, and cultural orientation courses. Previous roles include Adjunct at Deutscher Volkshochschul - Verband e.V., Trainer at KERN Global Language Services, and Tutor at Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Jugend und Familie. Irene’s diverse background also includes experience as a Counselor for unaccompanied underage refugees at IFRC and as a Senior Case Manager for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Additional qualifications include a BA from Hunter College and specialized training in adult education and teaching basic literacy.
