Brian Bowling

Brian Bowling is senior vice president and chief financial officer with oversight responsibility for the Reserve Bank's Financial Management and Planning and Financial Statistics and Structure Analysis functions. He is a member of the Bank's executive leadership committee.

Prior to this position, Bowling held the executive roles of chief information officer and general auditor. He was also a vice president in the Supervision and Regulation (now Supervision, Regulation, and Credit) Division, where he was responsible for financial sector policy analysis, banking and real estate risk analysis, and the Credit and Risk Management Department, which includes discount window lending, payments system risk management, and reserves administration for the Sixth Federal Reserve District.

Bowling joined the Atlanta Fed in 1999 as head of the banking policy and supervisory studies group. He was promoted to assistant vice president in 2005 and to vice president in 2010. He became senior vice president in 2015. Before joining the Atlanta Fed, Bowling spent eight years as a regional banking analyst and examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Bowling earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Marshall University and a master's degree in banking and financial management from Boston University. He also holds the chartered financial analyst (CFA) professional designation and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals and the CFA Institute. Bowling currently serves on the board of directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Georgia and South Carolina chapter and is a former board member of CHRIS 180.
