Andy Polacek is a Principal Business Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, with a tenure starting in September 2017 and includes previous roles as Senior Business Economist and Senior Economic Research Analyst. From August 2011 to June 2017, Andy served as a Senior Associate Economist and Associate Economist, focusing on academic and policy-related research regarding the life insurance industry and reinsurance in the property and casualty sector. Andy's contributions included organizing research projects, providing analytical support for key presentations to the Board of Governors and the Financial Stability Oversight Committee, and developing a significant Unix database of insurance company financial data. Andy received the President’s Award for Excellence in 2013 for contributions to the Chicago Fed Insurance Initiative. Andy holds a Master of Science in Economics and Policy Analysis from DePaul Driehaus College of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Economics from DePaul University.
