Ralf Meisenzahl

Ralf Meisenzahl currently serves as Vice President and Director of Financial Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago since August 2019, with prior roles as Senior Economist and Economic Advisor. In addition to this position, Ralf is Co Editor Chief at Explorations in Economic History since July 2022, and has been an Adjunct Faculty member at the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since January 2022. Ralf is also affiliated with Northwestern University’s Center for Economic History and was a lecturer there from March to June 2020. Ralf's previous experience includes roles at the Federal Reserve Board, culminating as Principal Economist from 2010 to July 2019. Ralf holds a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University and a Diplom in Economics from the University of Mannheim.
