Andrea Raffo is senior vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. His career with the Federal Reserve has spanned nearly two decades. Andrea began as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Before coming to Minneapolis, he spent 15 years working for the Board of Governors, where he held a number of positions and served most recently as associate director of the Board’s International Finance Division. In 2017, he received the Board’s Special Achievement Award.
Andrea received a B.A. and an M.Ec. from Bocconi University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research as an economist has centered on international economics, macroeconomics, and international finance, and his work has appeared in publications such as the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Journal of International Economics.
