Jason Somerville

Jason Somerville is a highly experienced aerodynamics specialist in motorsport, currently serving as the Head of Aerodynamics at the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile since February 2022, focusing on the regulation and development of Formula 1 cars. Prior to this role, Somerville led the aerodynamics department at Formula One Management Limited from June 2017 to February 2022, contributing to the successful implementation of new regulations aimed at enhancing race competitiveness. Previous positions include Head of Aerodynamics at Williams Martini Racing, where notable achievements included the development of several successful car models, and leadership roles at other prominent teams such as Lotus F1 Team and Toyota Motorsport GmbH. Somerville's career began as an Aerodynamicist at Williams Grand Prix Engineering, where involvement in multiple race-winning vehicles laid a strong foundation. With a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Automotive Engineering Technology from Loughborough University, Somerville combines technical expertise with extensive industry experience.
