Phil Holtam

Phil Holtam is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainable practices and social enterprises. Currently serving as Director at Sussex Surplus since March 2024, Phil leads efforts to combat food waste while promoting inclusive employment through community initiatives, such as pay-as-you-feel meals and event catering. In parallel, Phil holds the position of Regional Programmes Manager at Feedback since May 2017, focusing on the FLAVOUR project aimed at reducing food waste and facilitating job opportunities. Previous roles include Farm Worker at Ashurst Organics, where organic vegetables were cultivated, and Future Grower Trainee at Kensons Farm, part of a training scheme by the Soil Association. Phil's educational background includes a Master's degree in Environmental Science from Lund University, complementing a diverse career spanning event organization, horticulture, and renewable energy management.
