Andrew Stewart has extensive experience in the field of data science and bioinformatics. Andrew is currently the Head of Data at PatternAI, starting in March 2021. Prior to that, they worked at FeedMob as the Lead Data Scientist from July 2019, where they managed a data science team and designed the company's data science architecture. Andrew also worked as a Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University starting in August 2016, teaching a course on Data Science.
From September 2015 to May 2019, Andrew held the role of Senior Data Scientist at Twist Bioscience, where they designed experiments and developed algorithms to optimize gene manufacturing processes. Andrew also hired and mentored research assistants for data science projects. Before that, they worked as a Data Science Consultant at Data Intelligence LLC from January 2013 to December 2016.
Andrew has also held positions at Veracyte, Inc. as a Scientist from August 2014 to September 2015, where they developed machine learning models for cancer diagnostics, and at the Smithsonian Institution as a Data Science Specialist from January 2013 to July 2014. Andrew started their career at Keygene Inc. as a Bioinformatician in the Applied Systems Biology team from January 2010 to December 2012, where they developed data pipelines and models for genetic modification and greenhouse production. Andrew also worked at the United States Navy Medical Research Center as a Research Assistant and Bioinformatics Intern from 2005 to 2009.
Andrew Stewart completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Maryland between 2001 and 2006. Following this, between 2011 and 2015, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University.
