Giovanni Verkooren

Giovanni Verkooren is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law and advisory roles. Currently serving as a Board Member for KAA Gent and FEESTARCHITECT CHRIST SCHEPENS, as well as a Co-Founder of Rent-a-Claw, Giovanni is also the Group Legal Counsel for Planet Group, guiding various sectors in HR and staffing. Previous experience includes senior positions at EY Law Belgium, where Giovanni specialized in M&A, and Baro Projects. Additional expertise in renewable energy was gained through a secondment at Elicio NV. Giovanni’s legal career commenced at Van Bael & Bellis and included an internship at Linklaters. Academically, Giovanni holds multiple degrees in Law, Criminology, and Company Law from institutions including Ghent University and the University of Glasgow, alongside an Accelerated Management Programme from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
