Javier Soltero

Senior Venture Partner at Felicis Ventures

Javier Soltero is a technology entrepreneur and business leader responsible for the creation and evolution of multiple successful enterprise and consumer products.

Most recently, Javier served as Vice President and General Manager of Google Workspace, overseeing Google’s communication and collaboration products and business supporting over 3 billion users around the world. Having joined in October 2019, he led the organization through a transformative period that delivered extraordinary growth in product usage and subscription revenue while responding to the incredible demands brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic. Under Javier’s leadership at Google, Google Workspace rose to become a critical part of the Google Cloud business, added hundreds of millions of new users, and established itself as a key innovator delivering the future of work.

Prior to Google, Javier has held a number of product executive roles at Microsoft, including for products such as Office, Outlook, and Microsoft’s AI assistant. He joined Microsoft in 2014 as part of the acquisition of Acompli, a mobile email startup he co-founded and led as CEO, which was then launched by Microsoft as Outlook Mobile and is now in use by hundreds of millions of users.

Before starting Acompli, Javier held senior leadership positions at VMware where he joined after the acquisition of his first company Hyperic, an early leader and innovator in cloud infrastructure monitoring and management. Before Hyperic, he held chief architect and senior engineering positions at a number of enterprise software and consumer internet companies including Netscape, where he worked on early internet messaging, application servers and e-commerce technologies.

Javier graduated from Carnegie Mellon University. He was born and raised in Puerto Rico and currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
