Mamata Akella

Mamata Akella is a cartographic system designer at Felt. Mamata has over thirteen years of experience in the field of cartography and has worked with some of the leading companies in the industry. Mamata began their career as a cartographic product engineer at Esri in 2008. Mamata then spent three years working as a web map specialist and lead cartographer for the National Park Service. In 2015, they joined CARTO as head of cartography. Mamata spent four years at CARTO before moving to Stamen in 2020. Mamata has been with Stamen for just over a year and is currently working on cartographic engineering and design systems for Facebook.

Mamata Akella has a MS in Geography from Penn State University and a BA in Geography from UC Santa Barbara.
