Nelson Seo

Nelson Seo is a Co-Founder and Managing Director. Nelson has over 25 years of experience in commodities, derivatives, bond trading, and investment banking. Since forming Fermat Capital with his brother John in 2001, they have worked together to develop methods for real-time evaluation, pricing, and active trading of cat bonds, growing the firm from a start-up into a leading investment manager dedicated to ILS. Nelson has extensive trading experience as a senior market maker, having managed Warburg Dillon Read's precious metals trading and sales desk. At Warburg Dillon Read, Nelson also designed structured transactions, and he was a director of e-commerce development for UBS Warburg's treasury products group. Previously, he was a senior option market maker in foreign exchange and precious metals for O'Connor & Associates/Swiss Bank Corporation, trading on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and later establishing and managing SBC's floor operations on the COMEX. Nelson received a BS in economics from M.I.T. (1990).
