Industrial Data Scientist at Fero Labs

Martin Hughes has been working in the field of data science since 2018. In that year, they began working as a Data Scientist at Ericsson, where they developed Python pipelines and machine learning algorithms to optimize radio networks, designed and programmed AI applications to assist with 5G city network planning, and developed Python packages for visualizing crowd-sourced mobile network data in QGIS. In 2020, Martin began working as a Data Scientist at HDI Group, where they developed Python NLP for text extraction from customer texts, predicted customers' future actions using time-series analysis, and developed and deployed applications on AWS cloud. Martin has also worked in the past at Procter & Gamble, where they held two roles from 2010 to 2018. In their role as Senior Researcher, Product Stewardship, they enabled compliant business development by launching new cosmetic and consumer goods brands in developing markets, and managed IT projects such as digitalizing the new product label creation process. As a Researcher, Research and Development, they developed scientific processes, handled and collected scientific data for modelling and simulation, and evaluated robotic processes. Martin is currently employed at Fero Labs as an Industrial Data Scientist.

Martin Hughes has a Master of Science in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence from Tilburg University (2017-2018) and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Bristol (2005-2008). Martin also holds an AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS), which they obtained in March 2021.
