Dawn OWENS

Dawn Owens has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2003 when they were the Marketing Program Coordinator and Lead Analyst at New Mexico State University. In this role, they completed competitor analysis and occupancy projections, improving retention rates by 26%, and presented results of a unique self-designed study to the Board of Regents, which contributed to authorization of a $5.5 million student housing project. In 2005, they were the General Manager at Yellow Wood Coffee & Tea, where they created financial reporting systems, analyzed labor efficiency and implemented a restructuring plan, and developed hiring, training, inventory and management systems. Also in 2005, they were the Center Director at SCORE! Educational Centers. In 2008, they were the Pricing Analyst at MOL (Americas) LLC, developing strong collaborative relationships with the international sales force and designing and programming an innovative excel workbook template. From 2009 to 2013, they were at GenOn Energy, first as a Project Manager and then as a Business Development Analyst. In their Project Manager role, they negotiated major project lateral agreements with local communities and agencies, and managed a project development budget and schedule for a $500M+ project. As a Business Development Analyst, they provided analytical support for business development efforts and Asset Management activities. From 2013 to 2018, they were at NRG Energy, first as a Senior Director of Business Development, then as a Director of Sustainable Development, and finally as a Sustainability Specialist and Asset Manager. In their Asset Manager role, they optimized a portfolio of power generating assets to achieve better than projected value, generating over $700,000 in additional revenue annually. From 2018 to 2019, they were the Director of Special Projects at Experis/Manpower Group. Most recently, from 2019 to 2020, they were the Business Customer Engagement Manager at East Bay Community Energy, and is currently the VP, Head of Project Development & Commercial Markets, and Head of Project Development at Fervo Energy.

Dawn Owens has completed a Language Certificate A2 in French from Alliance Fran\u00e7aise Lyon (2018-2019), an MBA in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco (2011-2013), and a BA in Economics from New Mexico State University (2001-2004).
